"In the week leading up to the 91st Oscars, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present a series of public programs celebrating this year’s nominees in the Animated Feature Film, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Foreign Language Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, and Animated and Live Action Short Film categories. All events will be held at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills."

Fun Meet-up @ Oscar Week for AWM SoCal
Alliance for Women in Media SoCal members and supporters enjoyed a MEET-UP at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Samuel Goldwyn Theater for DOCUMENTARIES on Feb. 19th during Oscar Week.
"The Academy presented an evening dedicated to showcasing the nominated films and filmmakers in the Documentary Short Subject and Documentary Feature categories.
Hosted by Academy Documentary Branch governors Rory Kennedy (director-producer of Take Every Wave: The Life of Laird Hamilton and Last Days in Vietnam) and Roger Ross Williams (director-producer of Music By Prudence and Life, Animated) the evening included a presentation of clips from this year’s nominated films.
Nominees from all 10 documentaries introduced their work, reflecting on their nominated films as well as their personal journeys as documentarians."

Host, Rory Kennedy, is also a former Alliance for Women in Media Gracie Award Honoree.
